Muriel Wilhelmi

Muriel was born in St. Paul, Minnesota and has had a life-long interest in drawing and painting.  Her work is usually representational and serene.  For the last several years watercolor has been her favorite medium.  She has studied and attended workshops by Leonard Scheu, portraits by Charles Tito, realism by Charles Becker, seascapes by E. John Robinson, watercolor by George Post, Olaf Palm, Don O’Neil, LaVere Hutchings, Tom Lynch, and Tony Couch, to name a few.

Muriel’s paintings are included in many private collections in the U. S. and abroad.  She has won many awards and ribbons in California and Oregon.  Besides painting, Muriel is enjoying life with her husband, Jerry, and they are blessed with many friends and family members.  They love Florence, their pond, a few ducks, a few chickens, and three cats.  Traveling in their motor home, going to jazz festivals, listening to music and dancing, are their favorite pastimes.  They have four children, five grandchildren, and are the great-grandparents of four boys.

Jerry and Muriel moved to Florence from Mendocino, California in 1991.  While living in Mendocino, they owned and operated the Village Art Gallery.  Mendocino is a popular art colony and is visited by people from around the world.
