Mary Beers was adopted from Manila, Philippines as a little girl and grew up in McMinnville, OR. She started beading when she was 7 years old and got into seed beads when she was 9 because the beads were so “tiny and pretty.” She made her first loom when she was 12 and continued to bead and design jewelry until college.
She moved to Florence after meeting and marrying her husband. After being commissioned to do beadwork and beading classes for his tribe, she was inspired to reprise her own work and designs and hasn’t looked back since.
The sheer joy and love of art has always been prominent in her life. She just has few outlets to let it out, so when she discovered beadwork and jewelry craft, it was the perfect solution to let her creative juices flow.
Mary enjoys doing all kinds of beaded jewelry as well as other crafts. She loves music and enjoys singing and playing gigs around town. She loves the outdoors, especially the ocean. She loves her family and is the proud mother of Ramil Ti’ii and Zhade Ts’olii.
