Karen Nichols is an award-winning artist originally from Southern California where she was an artist and a teacher. Her work has been shown at the Gallery Above the Silver Lining, Frames of Florence, the Siuslaw and Mapleton Libraries, Peace Harbor Hospital, and The Florence Events Center. She has won several awards at the FEC Celebrate the Arts, The Rhodie Festival Art Show, the Siuslaw Library, People’s Choice awards and is a Backstreet Gallery Artist. She is also a member of the Watercolor Society of Oregon.
Her unique pieces are executed in a variety of media – bas-relief paper painting, sculptures, watercolor and acrylics and photographs. She has a line of jewelry and greeting cards.
A ray of sunshine, a drop of rain, egrets, and child’s smile are but a few of her inspirations that motivate her artistry in art pieces, composing or writing.
